At a quick glance, comparisons to one of the original Air Jordan 1 styles is evident: “White”-colored synthetic leather lands on the toe box and mid-foot, while a hairy suede wraps around the forefoot and along the tongue in a slightly-faded “Black” hue. Closer inspection at the pair reveals modern-day flair, as the mix of materials that take over the heel, collar and tongue introduce gold, maroon and blue into the mix. The vibrant color trifecta that takes over much of the retro’s rear evokes past  Dunk drops, another Peter Moore-designed model that has drawn inspiration from dozens of college programs since debuting in 1985. Underfoot, the Zoom Air-cushioned sneaker opts for a tried-and-proven “White/Black” midsole/outsole combination, but the latter is interrupted by the rich yellow tone that helps animate the top-half. Nevertheless, the bottom-half of the kicks round out a Jordan 1-variant that’s rooted in both heritage and future-forward design.
